When you travel abroad it is nice to keep that link to home. If you choose to reside or work there it can be even more significant. For me when I lived and worked in Turkey for 6 months there was really little I missed aprt from my favourite TV stations. I did not realise how much I'd miss the news, Newsnight, Match of the Day and simply the general documentaries and entertainment on the primary TV channels. Sure there is some great shows and humors on US TV but the cost you pay is generally incessant advertising breaks ever few minutes. Naturally here is the age of the net and most of the TV stations in Britain broadcast most of their content online. ITV player and bBC iPlayer work exceptionally well and are quite easy to use.Stations 4 and 5 have something similar and if you've a SKY subscription - Sky Go is truly remarkable. At first it appears so simple, just fire up your laptop (or connect it to the TV) then you see the BBC news everynight. But there's a grab, it doesn't work outside the UK, at least it didn't until I video about watching UK TV abroad
