When you travel abroad it's pleasant to keep that link to house. It can be much more significant if you determine to reside or work there. For me when I resided and worked in Turkey for 6 months there was very little I missed aprt from my favourite TV stations. I didn't realise how much I'd miss the news, Newsnight, Match of the Day and only the general documentaries and entertainment on the principal TV channels.It's often said that British TV is some of the best in the world, but you understand it actually is true. Sure there is some excellent shows and humors on US TV but the cost you pay is generally incessant marketing breaks ever few minutes. Obviously this is actually the age of the internet and most of the TV stations in Britain circulate the majority of their content online. BBC iPlayer and ITV player work extremely well and are quite easy to use. At first glance it appears so simple, only fire up your laptop (or connect it to the TV) then you see the BBC news everynight. However there's a grab, it doesn't work outside the UK, at did not until I found this video about watching UK TV abroad
