It's fairly unbelievable when you think about it. I am able to sit here in a township called Stanstead on the America/Canadian boundary and watch Canadian TV online without an issue. If I stroll down the street and cross the border line with my laptop and connect from a Starbucks down the route and I'm blocked. This is because simple, by connecting in the US side of the boundary and strolling a few hundred yards I 've also altered my electronic address. In the North I use a Canadian ISP and so have a Canadian IP address, in the South my digital nationality turns me into an American. The difference may seem insignificant but it actually makes a big difference to what I can do online. Your location will be looked up by most important sites as you connect and command what you see on their site. It might be incovenient for me as I now can not see the local news on CTV but there are a tons of advantages also. For instance when in canada, I get blocked striving to watch anything on Hulu or Pandora, these work totally with an US IP address. There is a simpler means to switch your addresses without transferring place although it operates readily enough. It is possible to use a Canadian proxy to hide your real location and regain control!
