When you travel abroad it is nice to keep that connection to house. It can be much more significant if you choose to live or work there. For me when I dwelt and worked in Turkey for 6 months there was very little I missed aprt from my favorite TV stations. I didn't realise how much I'd miss the news, Newsnight, Match of the Day and just the general documentaries and entertainment on the principal TV channels. Sure there's some great shows and comedies on US TV but the price you pay is usually incessant advertising breaks ever few minutes. Naturally here is the age of the net and all the TV stations in Britain spread the majority of their content online. ITV player and bBC iPlayer work exceptionally well and are quite easy to use.Channels 4 and 5 have something similar and if you've a SKY subscription - Sky Go is really striking. At first it looks so simple, simply fire up your notebook (or connect it to the TV) then you see the BBC news everynight. But there's a catch, it does not work outside the UK, at least it didn't until I video about watching UK TV abroad
