When you travel abroad it is pleasant to maintain that connection to residence. If you decide to reside or work there it can be even more important. For me when I resided and worked in Turkey for 6 months there was really little I missed aprt from my favourite TV stations. I didn't realise how much I'd miss the news, Newsnight, Match of the Day and simply the general documentaries and amusement on the primary TV channels.It's frequently said that British TV is some of the best in the world, but you know it really is accurate. Sure there's some amazing shows and comedies on US TV but the price you pay is typically incessant advertisements breaks ever few minutes. Needless to say this is the age of the web and all the TV stations in Britain spread the majority of their content online. BBC iPlayer and ITV player work exceptionally well and are quite simple to use.Channels 4 and 5 have something similar and if you've a SKY subscription - Sky Go is truly striking. At first it appears so easy, just fire up your notebook (or connect it to the TV) then you see the BBC news everynight. However there's a catch, it does not work outside the UK, at didn't until I found this video about watching UK TV abroad
